The site adjoins and abuts the existing village, but was clearly outside of the settlement area. There was an opportunity, following negotiations with the Local Planning Authority and their favoured Housing Association, that up to eight units would be built.
The Local Housing Association made initial payment which helped with infrastructure and the dwellings were sold at a discount on normal market value. Nevertheless, the development has opened up the opportunity for further residential development in the future on the Applicant’s retained land.
